• The lamp oil included in Wick it kits is made by Aura Oil (not related to Wick it.)
  
  
• It is premium lamp oil made from pure liquid paraffin, which is both odorless and sootless. The 16 oz. bottle included in the kit will burn from 60-80 hours highly economical compared to the cost of candles which burn much faster, and without the concern of melting candle wax. The flame is consistently clean and perfect in appearance.
  
  
• The lamp oil colors are beautiful, similar in appearance to gem tones with a translucent shimmering sapphire blue, teal green, topaz and citrine. (Some kits offer crystal clear oil, however colored oils are predominantly featured in Wick it kits.) The purity and translucence of the oil permits the downward illumination at night. Both Aquamarine and Bermuda Blue cast a clear, soft illumination on any scene. Apricot Ice illuminates with a gorgeous golden hue. Amber Gold casts a warm glow, as the rich cognac oil color is darker, so the illumination is more subtle.
  
  
• We have pre-selected the lamp oil colors which best coordinate with the lamp design and content. Some kits offer a choice of colors, others do not.
  
  
• Only pure liquid paraffin oil is used in Wick it lamps. And, handling of the paraffin oil and filling the oil lamps should be done by adults only. Kerosene based oils and other oils that are not pure liquid paraffin (those commonly found in craft and hardware stores) will not result in the same illumination and often cause both odor and soot while burning.
  
  
• We recommend refilling the lamp after use, as keeping it filled with oil greatly enhances the lamp’s appearance.
  
  
• The kit includes a funnel and glass wickholder with fiberglass wick ~ these are everlasting wicks which should not need replacing. Assembly instructions are included with each kit, and provide more information about filling the oil lamp. Also refer to ‘Helpful Hints about Lamp Assembly’ included in this website.
